Bentley House and Car Museum – Sussex

Bentley Museum

Bentley is a great day out for the family in Sussex. It really is one of those places that keeps you busy all day and and has something for everyone in the family.

To start with there is plenty of grassy space and an open picnic area with a living willow feature for the kids to run about in, also a miniature railway that takes you winding through the woods and even includes a tunnel…very exciting for the little ones!

The house itself is a beautiful period mansion and while quite small in comparison to some grand houses this is great for small kids that can find long treks through houses rather dull.

A group of outbuildings contain a number of interesting craft workshops with some interesting hand crafted items for sale. Then you come across a real gem of a classic car collection which contains a varied and colourful array of rare and unique motor vehicles.

The last major feature at Bentley is the large Wildfowl Park area where birds of all sorts are on display and its a really lovely walk around some beautiful landscape to see them all. On our visit it was lovely and sunny and we finished off with a stroll through the ornamental house gardens which were lovely.

All in all Bentley House and Gardens is a super destination for a day out with the kids in Sussex nobody could ever come home disappointed.
